I bought my first pair of Gilett's during
summer of '08. Working at a RV Park during the summer, I am
on my feet for 6 to 7 hours during the day. I have to have a
shoe/sandal that gives me good arch support as well as a
thick sole since I am often walking on a gravel surface. I
now own 3 pair of Helen's in different colors. They are
Comfort and style in a feminine sandal is often hard to find
but the Helen has it all. I have worn Donald J Pliner for
years but was always looking for a more feminine sandal that
would be appropriate with dresses and even evening wear. The
Helen which comes in great patent colors is dressy enough
for evening yet comfortable enough to be a D!
I received a pair of these years ago as hand-me-downs and
finally wore them out. I work on my feet all day long and
they are wonderfully comfortable. However, the new ones I
bought tend to hurt my feet toward the end of the day. I'm
guessing they just need some breaking in.
I LOVE this sandal because it is so comfortable but looks
stylish and dressy. The black patent goes with just about
everything. I have many other shoes and sandals, but this is
the one I choose to wear most of the time in the Summer.
I ordered the Helen this year in a new bronze color. I have
2 other pair and it is the only sandal I wear in the summer.
They are dressy enough to wear with most things, and there
is always the support I need to help my back and knees. The
arch support in these is the best I have seen!
First purchased it in year 2000. Feel the most recent
purchase is a narrower shoe than the previous 6 pairs I have
worn. I have one pair as yet not worn - apart from the pair
just purchased. These are definitely wider than latest pair
just received. Otherwise I find this the most comfortable
shoe I have ever worn.
